Some painted Minis

Here is a selection of minis that I have painted over the last few months. Above and below are some 20mm Minaron Spanish Civil War Nationalist infantry.

This is a 28-30mm early medieval mounted command group. The General is a Mithril mini (Theoden) and the standard bearer is the GW Lord of the Rings Aragorn.

A really old Minfigs that I have had for several decades. I decided it was time I painted him. Quite a large figure, at least 28mm

An ugly brute - 25mm scale

Found in a box of $1 unwanted minis. He is 25mm and painted up quite nicely.

Hussite - Prokop the Great

Here is my painting of the Hussite leader Prokop the Great. The figures are all 28mm Front Rank, as a matter of fact Prokop is Front Rank's Henry Vth.

28mm Roman vs. Roman Hail Caesar game

Here are some photos of the Hail Caesar game we played on Thursday night. It was a Roman vs. Roman affair

Organizing forces for the coming contest.

Looking across the table at the opposing army.

Cavalry clash in the opening minutes of the battle.

The ranks of Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix await their foes.

 XXXths opponents move closer.

The cavalry guarding the flank of XXXths opponents have been defeated and a division of XXX has moved onto the flank of the enemy line.

XXX attacks and begin to roll up the enemy line.

The division attacked in the flank collapses and the game is over.

It was a good game and like all Hail Caesar games flowed along quickly and without any hitches.

$1 Barbarian Horn Blower

Sometimes you get lucky. A few weeks ago I was rummaging around in a tub of minis that had been cast aside and were being sold for $1 each. I found this fellow. He is perfect for a character in the dark ages campaign we are playing. He is the hero that carries the Horn of Rusika which when blown gives a combat bonus to all the Rusikan warriors within earshot. I painted the mini up and here he is.

Old School Citadel Wood Elf Army - so far....

Hello again,

I haven't had much time this year for painting and posting so I hope this makes up for it.

My old school Wood Elf army as it stands; probably about half of what it'll end up being. I was inspired by the army done by the Masterworks Guild. I've never painted fantasy before so it was a nice change of pace. Finding the models and putting together units is half the fun. Stripping and tidying old figures and breathing new life into them is also satisfying. The figures are all 20-30 years old.

The totals are:

3 mounted leaders

2 units of spears (20 each)

1 unit of swords (20)

2 units of archers (30 each)

1 unit of lancers (10)

1 unit of horse archers (10)

5 Zoats

10 Dryads

4 Treemen (inc 'Durthu')

4 Great Eagles (inc 'Lord on Great Eagle' - one of my favourites)

A healthy start to the army. I'll finish it off...one day...

Hope you like the pics.

Cheers,

Mick

28mm Vikings and others

Here are some of the minis we used when we played our latest game for our Viking era campaign.
