28mm Roman vs. Roman Hail Caesar game

Here are some photos of the Hail Caesar game we played on Thursday night. It was a Roman vs. Roman affair
Organizing forces for the coming contest.
Looking across the table at the opposing army.
Cavalry clash in the opening minutes of the battle.

The ranks of Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix await their foes.
 XXXths opponents move closer.

The cavalry guarding the flank of XXXths opponents have been defeated and a division of XXX has moved onto the flank of the enemy line.
XXX attacks and begin to roll up the enemy line.
The division attacked in the flank collapses and the game is over.
It was a good game and like all Hail Caesar games flowed along quickly and without any hitches.

28mm HUSSITES

I have been wanting to paint up a Hussite army for a long time and have finally begun to do so. Here are the first figures I have finished. The figures are from the Kingmaker line sold by 1st Corps. The two casualties laid low by the Hussite 'ladies' are from Front Rank.

54mm ROMAN LEGION

Here is some of my collection of 54mm Romans. My long term project is to build up a Legion with support troops and an army of 'Barbarians' to fight them. What I would like to do is to put on a public display game using these figures, it would look magnificent! The Legionaries are my own figures cast from a master figure I had commissioned from a Master figure maker in the UK. Standard bearers, Centurion, Tribune and Caesar are from a variety if suppliers.

MORE 28MM ROMAN TESTUDOS

I have finally finished the two sets of 28mm Roman Testudo which I bought from Black Tree Designs about a year ago. It was a long winded labor as I had to pin every shield then arrange each mini so that its shield was in the right place. It took a long time to do this and I resigned myself to just plugging away until it was done. Pinning everything and gluing it with epoxy paid off as when I was varnishing one of the sets the ladder which leans on the wall of the garage decided that it was going to fall onto the figures and knock them across the concrete floor of the garage. When that happened I thought that the set would have been smashed up but it was intact and the only damage was a couple of minor paint chips off the rims of three shields. I fixed those up easily. Well here are the two sets side by side. Woe betide any foe that thinks they can hide behind their walls from this lot.
