40mm AWI American Militia

After painting the 40mm AWI British mounted British General and his ADC I had a rummage around and found some more Front Rank 40mm AWI American militia that I have had lurking in the recesses for several years. I painted these and put them with the couple of militia I already had painted up. Here they are.

40mm AWI Mounted British Officers

Here are the two Front Rank 40mm AWI British mounted officers, the General (left) and his ADC (right). I finished the ADC today. They are really wonderful figures and truly a delight to paint.

40mm BRITISH GENERAL AWI

Here is the first figure for the New Year. It is a 40mm scale British General from the American War of Independence line by Front Rank miniatures. I finished painting this fellow yesterday. I also  purchased a mounted British ADC but have not yet painted that mini. These 40mm figures by Front Rank are beautifully crafted and are an absolute delight to paint.

Redcoats on the March

I seem to be painting a lot of British troops recently.  Luckily, I like painting red! I've has a pile of 40mm American War of Independence figures sitting around for a while.  It took longer than I expected to paint up a unit, lots of fiddly details.  I'm not sure who made this range- another mystery I guess!

THE JAMES-YOUNGER GANG

Here are some images of my latest indulgence!  These magnificent 40mm figures are sculpted by Australia's own Mike Broadbent and sold by Eureka Miniatures.  I'm not really into western gaming, but love the story of the James Younger gang and their exploits and the mythology which has been created around them. Were they Southern heroes or hardened criminals? They would make great figures for a game which features the Northfield Robbery.  The aim of the gang could be to get out of town before the civilians shoot them!  Anyway, enough flights of fancy.  They are great figures to paint up and are still available through Eureka and make a great diversion from painting ECW figures.
