25mm/28mm ACW REGIMENTAL FIRE AND FURY WARGAME

I hosted a wargame of Regimental Fire and Fury ACW rules last night. The figures were all 25mm/28mm from my collection including Dixon, Mark Fenlon, Foundry, Redoubt and Sash and Saber minis. The game involved five Union regiments and three guns attempting to push aside three Confederate regiments and two guns so that they could continue their advance against the flank of the main Confederate army which was notionally off the table in the distance. After some hard fighting the Confederates managed to weather the storm and were victorious. Here are some photos of the table I put together as well as some of the figures that took part in the game.

A ground level view of the table from over on the Union right flank.

Union infantry come to grips with the Confederates.

Union infantry assault the Confederates who are holding a tree lined ridge.

The Brave boys in Blue advance in the opening stages of the game.

The sheep are wondering what all the fuss is about.

  1. Great looking game all around! Always thought you needed far more regiments for fire and fury. Thx, Michael

  4. Michael, Regimental Fire and Fury is designed for Brigade level games with the regiment as the basic manoeuvre element. Regiments vary in size and abilities. Players have to make tactical choices for their regiments each turn. The rules work quite well.
Matt, Ian and Peter W played the Rebs. Steve, Peter R and John played the Yanks.

  5. Very inspiring!! I'm very happy to see you pulled off F & F with so few units and has prompted me try it at this scale as I have it in 15mm already.
