The Macedonian General

Here is a picture of my painting efforts of one of Foundry's range.  The figure is supposed to be Alexander the great- however- I have painted his horse brown and everyone knows that Bucephalus was black!  So maybe he borrowed a mate's horse or he is just a look alike for the big man himself!
It was a lovely figure to paint and the detail on the linen armor echoes the famous mosaic depicting Alexander well.  The helmet and sword on the base are some spares from the Immortal Greeks box set.

28mm European Revolutionaries - Kameraden!

Here are some of the 1919-1920s European revolutionaries I made several years ago for Cannon Fodder Miniatures 'Kameraden' line. These are all 28mm and available from Balzeaway Miniatures www.blazeaway.com.au

Inspired by Mick's post

Some Foundry Caribiniers never been seenon a blog until now.And based for Lasalle..1st and 2nd  Regiments

French 3rd Hussars

I had 9 of these figures painted from about 3 years ago and decided I wanted a unit of 16 figures. So I had a look in my boxes of shame for the remaining poses and included 2 elite company figures from my recent Foundry order. Uniform sources were conflicting as I like Chris Reeses plates but have several other books that gave different opinions. So I did the wargamer thing and picked the combinations that I thought looked the best. I cheated with the sabretache and scanned a good image, resized it and printed out 20 or so which I glued on with PVA. I think it works well and saved me the headache of painting 16 of the buggers...

French Carabiniers

Have a look at these pre 1810 Carabiniers.
These are Foundry figures that I got from ebay. They were a bit average so I tarted them up and rebased them to suit my tastes. I've kept the handpainted flag for now but will probably replace it at some stage. I will also probably add more grass tufts to the bases.
I've been using movement trays from Shogun Miniatures who make very nice steel trays that my magnetised bases cling to with no trouble.
Cheers,
Mick
