EVEN MORE ZULUS

The latest Zulus. These lads are from the Ingobamakhosi Regiment. That's 12 stands completed now, only 238 to go!

The Vikings are Invading the Monastery!!

The Vikings are invading!  Grab all the holy relics!  What should be first?  The gold crucifix?  The bible?  The chalice?  Naahhh.   This Monk clearly has his priorities set.  He has grabbed the holy leg of ham and revered loaf of bread!
Brother Hambone saves the day!

When shall we three meet again?

40mm Skirmish figures - Africans and others

Here are some of my 40mm modern skirmish lads. A mix of Africans, contractors and US types. The figures are all Honourable Lead Boiler Suit Company minis.

iNdluyengwe Regiment finished - the first Zulu Regiment!

This is the iNdluyengwe Regiment - the first one I have finished for the Isandlwana game using Wargames Factory 28mm hard plastic Zulus. iNdluyengwe numbered about 1000 men and was present at Isandlwana. This was the regiment discovered by the British scouts as it rested in a ravine. These lads had some muskets and after the battle chased the fleeing British and eventually contributed snipers to the Oscarberg which overlooked Rorkes Drift.

By the way I received the box of 40 packets of Zulus from Wargames Factory yesterday. It is a bloody big box with a lot of sprues in it.

EPIC ISANDLWANA GAME FOR CANCON 2012

I am planning a big participation game of the epic battle of Isandlwana using 28mm figures for Cancon 2012. This will be an epic game at a scale of one figure equals twenty actual men, entirely in keeping with the scale of the original epic battle. I will need ca.1200 Zulu figures and 85 British/NNC figures. Faced with this I contacted Wargames Factory telling them about the game and that I would need 40 packets of their hard plastic 28mm Zulus. I asked WF what they could do for me. Well I must say that WF came through like champions and gave me a massive discount, so I lashed out and bought the figures. Imagine just what it will look like with 1200 Zulu figures deployed on a table and surging forward...great stuff! Below is an image of some of the Zulus from WF that I have already painted and based. They come up looking pretty good and will certainly do the job on the day. The figures below are painted as the iNdluyengwe Regiment who were at Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift.

Boppo and The Ringmaster

Here are Boppo the Head Hunting clown and the Ringmaster of the Circus of Death. I made these 28mm figures several years ago as part of a never realised project by a well known miniature figure company to produce figures for a "Circus of Death". Boppo is a happy little chap who hides a grim trophy behind his back, while the Ringmaster, well he is just nasty!

The Ogre and the Monk

Here are a couple of nice figures I have had for some time. The first is a Reaper Mini, an Ogre I think. I am not sure who made the second figure. I decided that he needed to be painted and based in a "spiritual" manner hence his excessively pious demeanour! Just the thing to encourage the faithful against the heathen hordes. The crucifix was one that I had in my spares box. I knew that I'd find a use for it sometime.

54mm WW2 MINIS

Here are some of my 54mm WW2 minis. They are Toy Soldiers of San Diego figures. These are very nice figures, well detailed and realistically proportioned and animated. They paint up nicely as well.

Ragged Rebels fighting the Redcoats

Here are some figures from the superb Eureka AWI range.  They are truly a joy to paint, lots of detail and variety.  These lads are particularly battle weary and are looking forward to looting the next British Supply train! They are not based for any particular rules or reason, just for the fun of painting them.

For Liberty.....

Who woke me up?

The Mummy
Beware brave treasure hunters, a tombfull of riches does not come without its challenges.  Pity the poor fools who wake the slumber of the Pharaoh!  This figure is an OOP citadel mini from 1993 that a friend passed on for a bit of painting fun!

40mm Good Ole Boy on the look out fer varmints!

Here is a Good Ole Boy out doing his thing for the good guys. He has made sure to wear his Texas Longhorns cap and his lone star studded bandana. The figure is an Honourable Lead Boiler Suit company 40mm mini. I have about 20 of these to paint up and then I will be able to run a few good moden skirmish games.

Latest 54mm ACW Minis

Just finished off these 54mm fellows tonight. They are from Black Cat Miniatures. Nice clean figures to put together and they paint up well. I now have twenty of these fellows painted and based. I need to do a command stand and have the figures for this. I need to paint up a 54mm Yankee regiment now!
